TRACKINGMCPFreight glossary

What is DCSA Track & Trace?

DCSA Track & Trace is the Digital Container Shipping Association standard that normalizes carrier shipment events into one shape — transport events and equipment events, locations by UN/LOCODE, and event classifiers (planned, estimated, actual) — so every carrier’s tracking reads the same way.

Without a standard, each line publishes events differently. DCSA Track & Trace (v2.2 and later) gives developers a single, predictable model across carriers.
